Freedom… Fresh air… Snow you can ride rather than just throw! Snowbombing has got more great runs than a Usian Bolt DVD. This time we explore the Schapstkopf (sheep’s head) mountain – the highest part of the Penken. Take the express Schneekar chair, and turn right at the top to fly down the motorway (wide red 27), the snow here is always good as its north facing. You may want to repeat this a few times prior to pulling into the best mountain restaurant, The Pyramid (aka Schneekarhutte). After a warming jagartee, zoom down Red 7 – a succession of shallow slopes and steep dips, which winds its way down to the bottom of the 6 man chair. Now you’re in your stride take the chair up again… but this time choose the more challenging Black 17, which is directly beneath the chair and which packs a challenging array of moguls and steep gradients. Right, who fancies another jagartee at the Pyramid…?
