Carnival Review

Snowbombing descended on Notting Hill Carnival on Monday 30^th for a truly memorable night. Snowbombers turned up in droves as soon as the sound systems on the streets had finished and packed into

the Masons Arms for a bit of typical Snowbombing style debauchery. No-one seemed to mind it was a work night as they donned a tache and jumped on the dance-floor. Security had their work cut out at 2am (at the end of the night), ushering people out of the door who were refusing to leave.

Highlights included the disco vibes in the garden during the day with DJ Cuddles, Russ Cuban and Jon Carter. King of Carnival, Barry Ashworth who was suppose to play was found sleeping inside, clearly having burn the candles at both end and not having been to bed since Friday. Snowbombing as usual pushed the limits of partying and by blasting the Funktion 1 speakers past the allotted water-shed time… and thought they had got away with it until they were quickly put back in their place by a lovely lady from the council who officially served a warning notice for disturbing the peace!

This did little to dampen spirits as the music then moved inside with the Streetlife DJs, Damon (Disco Bloodbath), Dan Williams and Bushwacka! who rocked the main-room downstairs until closing. Upstairs added a bit of variety to the party with Plastician tearing the place apart with his garage and dub-step set. Shy FX apparently turned up to the venue, went upstairs, but never managed to reach the decks… Rumour has it he found an attractive blonde in the garden! The Stanton Warriors finished off the upstairs room in style with some rather funky breakbeat.

All in all, the night was certainly jerktastic and fun was had by all!
