Our two NYE parties were great successes! Once again the Snowbombing team were in the thick of it and have shared their NYE Snowbombing experiences..
Located in amongst the myriad of snaking underground tunnels that make up London Bridge, Eastern Electrics greeted 2011 with a party that arguably topped their previous bangers.
The line-up was a who’s who of modern electronic music, with an agreeably versatile selection from the upper echelons of Detroit house, minimal and progressive Dubstep. Seth Troxler was the inevitable name at the top of an envious list of talent, bringing his unique theatrics and DJ presence to a London show for what was only the second time in 2010. Jamie Jones capped off what has been a superb year for the Welsh prodigy and Damian Lazarus completed the line-up in the Mulletover room.

The cavernous Bloc tunnel saw Matthew Dear and Bristol bass wunderkind Joker take on the sweating NYE ravers whilst your very own Snowbombing completed the vibes with a fantastic Winter Wonderland chill out room.

Early NYE saw the Snowbombing crew inside for venue set-up. 18 miniature Christmas trees, one twenty metre banner, multiple crates of Eristoff vodka and several cans of snow spray later and the Winter Wonderland was deserving of its name. Eastern Electrics opened its doors at 9pm to be met with an unbelievably huge queue snaking its way down Great Eastern St. The event had completely sold out its 2,000 capacity and the majority of the crowd seemed desperate to be inside from the start.

This NYE crowd was formed out of an appealing mish-mash of ravers, reflecting the diversity of the line-up. However once the night got into swing it was clear who most had really come for, as both Seth Troxler and Damian Lazarus’ sets created huge seas of swarming bodies in the main room tunnel.
Joker tore apart BLOC room alongside MC Nomad, firing off much loved bass anthems such as ‘Tron’ alongside material from his debut album due for release early in 2011. Matthew Dear launched a dance-floor riot with his epic early hours techno brilliance whilst Roska rounded off the night nicely with a sharp set of bass driven Funky, once again showing why he is one of the most in demand DJ’s in the UK.

If we say so ourselves, the Snowbombing Winter Wonderland was a huge success. A safe, twinkling haven from the bleeping electronic madness of the tunnels, exhausted revellers could flop down on the quilted chairs and enjoy an Eristoff Black Vodka from the bar. By 7am people were lying comatose across the seats, a sure sign of an epic night.
All in all, huge credit is due for Eastern Electrics for creating a NYE like no other, in a completely new venue with a line-up that pushed the boundaries of modern dance music.

SUPERCHARGED

This NYE, we went to Brighton for round 3 of Snowbombing’s seafront madness. Luckily enough, the snow stayed in the alps for the afternoon of 31st and we were blessed with a nice bit of sunshine and clear blue skies. For our third helping of Supercharged, we had a change of venue… (and this venue was one with a difference), it was an old converted Church Hall, going by the name of the mighty aircraft Concorde 2.

As the sun set on the beachfront, the doors opened, ready for the mad mash-up remixes from 3rd rank DMC champion JFB. He took crazy remixes from Eminem and high class beats from Snowbombing favourites. As the clock struck 12, it was like one massive hug in Concorde2 and we then prepared ourselves for some DnB rhythmic mixing to take us into 2011. What a way to start!

Next up was the Brookes Brothers who dared to play the original bad boy ‘tear you down.’ The legendary Krafty Kuts blasted out hectic house beats from ‘shake like it’s tropicana’ and making everyone one ‘put your hands up for Detroit’.
When DJ Friction jumped on the decks, the lights were dropped along with the CDJ’s; sound was switched to vinyl (3 decks I’d like to add) and MC Dynamite was ready to spit some bars. They blasted us into 2011 with mix after mix, but would we let friction finish without ‘one more tune’? Most definitely not! Friction and Dynamite came back with a massive encore causing a riot between the staff and crowd.

As Friction was dragged off the stage and the lights were switched on, we were still hungry for more insane mixes, but the time had come to call it a night.
We hope you all enjoyed yourselves on NYE and now starting our diets to fit into your Ski outfits!!
