Volvo’s Snowbombing Milan party was a roadblock (or should that be a catwalk block?). Nearly 2000 pairs of ears witnessed our Italian disco debut to see Nic Sarno, Keith and Supabeatz and the incredible Crookers! When the club opened at 11pm there was a 200 metre queue – who were stoked to witness the red carpet arrival (on Vespa’s, naturally!) of some of the best known faces in Italy:
Legendary Italian action sport presenter GroS !
Musician/DJ/Anchorman/Journalist Alessio Bertallot!
And famous tv face (MTV) Marco Maccarini!
They were later joined by MTV’s Carlo Pastore, who arrived just in time for Nick Sarno’s set. Keith & Superbeatz then took over and delivered an immaculate selection of discoid dance fodder, prior to the headlining Crookers entered the booth to huge cheers.
Our lucky Kiwi competition winner Caris Bedford (who won flights, a 2 night 4 star hotel stay and guestlist entry – photo below) ripped up the dancefloor with partner Sam and she had this to say about the night:
“We had the best time! Crookers were AWESOME and we were pretty much the last people in the club. I was supposed to send Simon from Snowbombing HQ some photos but me and Sam were having way too much fun to be looking through the eye of the camera! Sorry Simon! Massive thanks to everyone at Volvo Snowbombing for such an amazing night. Can’t wait till April!”
The crowd was – as you would expect – both stylish and beautiful – but also very clued up musically. Our resident Marc Roberts proved a popular ambassador for Volvo Snowbombing – and as it was so busy so early, his opening set felt more like a closng set!
Sadly Mark’s sartorial elegance does not match his musical dexterity, so he was generally overlooked by any Ruby the Heartbreaker types. But apart from this aspect, our Italian Job was a huge success and we’ve even been invited back – gratzi!
