Maverick Sabre was one of many exciting newcomers to grace the Volvo Snowbombing stage in 2011. Spotted by Snowbombing scouts in late 2010 he was immediately signed to the bill. We bumped into him at the bottom of the Penken lift mid-week at VSB and insisted we gave him a lift around resort. For our generosity Maverick rewarded us with our first Volvo Acoustic session; an exclusive back-seat gig with a run down of his unique sound and rise into the music industry, with the download success of his debut mixtape, “The Travelling Man”.
Maverick (also known as Michael Stafford) is a 20 year old Irishman from Hackney, London. Having collaberated with fellow Snowbomber Professor Green on his top 40 hit “Jungle”, Chase and Status’s latest record “No More Idols”, and receiving superb reviews from his first EP “The Lost Words” it’s no wonder Maverick’s straight on the UK’s festival circuit this summer, including the likes of Wireless, Lovebox, Global Gathering, Kendal Calling, & Bestival.
We’re sure his eclectic mix of rap, folk, & reggae genres combined with his vocal charm will bring goosebumps to those fortunate enough to catch his UK festival performances this year.
