Last weekend saw Snowbombing HQ embrace the party across 2 areas of London; one of which included our second installment of our UK club tour ‘Ignition‘, with club partners and SB veterans the Urban Nerds for an Official Halloween blow out!
With an abundance of free Snowbombing goodies in hand, we started our weekend at the 4th annual London Freeze Festival at Battersea Power station to greet other like-minded festival go-ers and enjoy the weekend’s festivities.
Highlights included spine-tingling performances from the Everything Everything, the already confirmed SB 2012 act Groove Armada, and a Saturday headline performance from The Streets.
Competing on a huge 100m long, 32 metres high, and 17 metre long ski jump included snowboard pros Janna Korpi (FIN), Seppe Smits (BEL), Joris Ouwerkerk (NED), Jamie Nicholls (UK), & Staale Sandbech (NOR), with Janna Korpi successfully taking home the gold in the Snowboard FIS World Cup.
We even caught up with Top Gear’s finest who kindly gave us a helping hand promoting in the Retail Village.
With the festival coming to a close at 10.30pm on Friday evening, we gathered those looking for more and lead them to the Urban Nerds for their now infamous Halloween shin-dig, at the suitably spooky Crucifix Lane venue.
Under the arches in London Bridge, the Nerds boys put together a bassy, grimy spooktacular of a line-up that featured MTA new boys Kill Sonic (formerly Chasing Shadows), grime super-crew O.G’s, Dubstep legend Hatcha and young upstarts Soul Circuit. A cavalcade of Nerds regulars piled into the 700 capacity venue, dressed in imaginative, hilarious and occasionally down-right terrifying fancy dress. Snowbombing’s particular favourite was Bride of Chuckie, whilst elsewhere Osama Bin Laden roamed about apparently back from the dead, complete with a worryingly real looking bullet wound to the eye.
The evening was yet another confirmation as to why Urban Nerds are our club partners for the 4th year running!
