It’s unique, memorable and the most fun you can have on the road… It’s the Snowbombing Road Trip!
The Road Trip involves intrepid Snowbombers driving out to Mayrhofen and having bags of random roadside fun en route! Highlights include cross channel pub quizzes, overnight pit stops featuring impromptu unplugged gigs by Snowbombing artists, and all manners of point-scoring along the way. All participants then parade into town, with cheering crowds thronging the streets to a hero’s welcome, a chequered flag, a podium, and an oompah band!
Previous participants have included Example, Professor Green, Mistajam, Dynamo (the Magician), The Enemy, The Cuban Brothers, Mr Motivator and actor Mathew Horne, alongside over 400 Snowbombers managing to avoid airports and swapping the tiresome aspects of aviation (small overpriced bottles of warm wine, not smoking or stretching, and the risk of deep vein thrombosis) for the freedom of the open road!
We can reveal that this year’s first fancy dress theme will be TV LEGENDS: famous four wheeled stars of the small screen. There are loads to choose from: Starsky & Hutch, Brum, Dukes of Hazzard, Scooby Doo, The Sweeney, Mr Bean, Thunderbirds, Wacky Races, Only Fools & Horses (go on – we dare you!), Knight Rider, The Prisoner, Life on Mars, Taxi, The A Team and if that’s not enough to tyre your imagination, we’ll accept any film star cars too! Think Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Italian Job, Harry Potter, Herbie, James Bond, Smokey & the Bandit, Thelma & Louise and of course, Cars!
Alternatively if you can’t afford to rent an Aston Martin DB5; rent a tux and a gun, you can focus the fancy dress on the driver and crew members… Your theme is TV LEGENDS remember – and the scope for costume-driven capers are endless: from Mr Blobby, Bill & Ben and Spiderman to The Chuckle Brothers, Downton Abbey and Gladiators…
Once you’ve decided which TV Legend you’re going to be, why not self document your highway high jinks for your chance to feature in our very own Snowbombing Road Trip feature film..? That’s right ‘bombers we’re encouraging our Road Trippers to film their escapades during the 2012 Road Trip, and then send their videos us at the end of the event so we can put together a Road Trip special feature!
The more colourful, entertaining and easy-on-the-eye the footage you supply is, the greater the chance of cinematic immortality!!!
For those looking to reserve their spot, you can now book the Snowbombing Road Trip by adding the option to your booking. Prices are £259 per vehicle and each vehicle is permitted to take 5 occupants. So including the driver, thats a maximum of 5 people on a booking that can share the Road Trip package option. Please remember that you only need one option per vehicle, please don’t each select the Road trip option on your passenger booking!
Also please ensure to book your accommodation from the 8th April as you will arrive in Mayrhofen one day early!
