“Great things are done when men and mountains meet”
{William Blake, English mystic, visionary, poet and painter}
5000+ Snowbombers, Dizzee Rascal playing Bonkers twice in the forest, Fatboy Slim skanking to lasers in the rain at the street party, Norman Jay’s Good Times Sound System swapping Notting Hill for a snowy one. Skream, Mistajam, Jackmaster & Artwork on a double decker bus at the board park in the sunshine, Groove Armada’s Red Light’s mind-blowing visuals from outer space, Fabric Live rocking the igloo, again, Urban Nerdery in the Raver’s Return, Yoda in the Schlussel, Heidi in the Bruck’n’Stadl, Damian Lazarus in the Arena. Eddie the Eagle smashed on schnapps. Rompa’s Reggae Shack shaking the mountain all week long, Mr Motivator causing a resort-wide shortage of bananas after recommending them as a detox, a pack of Fentons, scary Kerry Katona masks (hope they were masks…), nuns, bears, camels, celery, purple fairy wings, Pat Sharp (Pat Sharp!), random Road Trip TV stars arriving to crowd-lined streets and the weather throwing absolutely everything at you – and watching you emerge victorious!
Snowbombing 2012 was everything we hoped it would be; a blizzard of wizardry; a gathering storm of anything-outside-the-norm and blue sky behaviour beyond our wildest expectations…
Thank you for making it unforgettable. You were awesome like you always are. Vielen danke, from the bottom of our bottoms. IT. WAS. UNFORGETTABLE! From what we remember!
2013: Lucky for some… Our most central hotels are always first to fill. Each year they are eagerly (and eagle-eyedly) reserved by wise Snowbombers who preciously place a holding deposit on ‘early doors’ to reserve their room. SB13 Early doors open Friday 27th April, when we’ll be announcing next year’s dates…
Remember –The early bombers get the best beds!
