Our sky-high battle of the bands triumphantly returned once again, top online music mag Gigwise.com were central to running things in 2009.

Four amazing bands were given the chance of a lifetime as they travelled to Austria and played in the now legendary Xbox Social to groups of party-animal Snowbombers. Only one band could be crowned KOTM and earn themselves a nice lump sum of €2000!

Snowbombing 2009 saw I AM AUSTIN, THE RAGGAMUFFINS, SNOWBYRDS and WALK.DON’T WALK rock the XBox Social, battling it out for the Gigwise King of the Mountain title ... and €2000 euros of course.

2009 ResultsThe high-altitude battle of the bands brought a fiercely fought final to the Austrian Alps, but in the end I AM AUSTIN ... an alternative drum & bass / electro duo walked away from ‘the Hoff’ with a giant sized cheque in hand.

Congratulations to I AM AUSTIN and all the bands that travelled over to Mayrhofen to compete at this year’s Gigwise King of the Mountain.
