If there’s one element of Snowbombing which other festivals covet, it’s our venues.
We transform the resort into one H-U-G-E party; from the high street to the surrounding mountain tops
Where else can you go to a
party in a village built completely from ice? Dance in a 200 year old mountain barn? Watch live bands in a forest clearing and enjoy DJ’s playing from an open air alpine summit stage? Have a gander at these peaches of party places:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Headline venue...THE EUROPAHAUS
Big soundsystm, huge dancefloor and a second room which is meant for chill-out but always turns into a rave of its own!
'Around 75 DJs and 20 odd bands keep the glowsticks waving and the Jaegermeisters flowing into the early hours each night, with the relatively new 1,500-capacity Europahaus, boasting a sound system to rival the O2 Arena, providing the festival’s focal point.' - Virtual Festival, 2008
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ARENA
One of two smaller DJ venues and always kicking until the small hours the Arena boasts the secret stairway to the Garage...
This stage has seen a long list of superstar DJs over the years including Tayo and his ever colourful Tracksuit Party, DJ Yoda, Jon Carter, Justin Robertson, DJ Marky, James Zabiela and many many more...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SCHLUSSEL
Effectionately nick-named 'The Sweat-box' by Snowbombing regulars this traditional wooden venue is always a favourite...its dark, sweaty and always rammed with mad up for it party people!
Jesse Rose, Trevor Loveys, Todd Terje and Ewan Pearson all graced the sweat-box decks in 2008.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MO's
Slightly more chilled and serving food until late the party in Mo's always get the crown involved.
From 'TooManyDJs: Bring You're Own' (in 2008 shamefully mistaken by a few as the actual 2ManyDjs rather than the iPod battle that it is!) to Open Mic Nights if you're up for a laugh and fancy a bit of showing off, Mo's is the place to be!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SPORTS BAR
Hosting apres ski fun and games on the terrace outside, followed by a line-up of fantastic live bands in the evening this centrally located and intimate venue has seen some of Snowbombings best live gigs including: Kitty, Dasiy and Lewis, The Courteeners, Lightspeed Champion, Kid Carpet, Metros and many more...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MOUNTAIN STAGE
Loose Cannons leading a mass mosh pit in the snow to Rage Against the Machine, Petty Crooks pumping out the Feel Good Tunes and Squeaky Hill running around with targets around their heads encouraging the snowball flight of the century!
Whether your flying around the mountain, relaxing in the snow or getting stuck in with the tha crazy goings on...the Mountain Stage pumps out the feel good tunes providing the soundtrack to your Snowbombing afternoons.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE GARAGE
The dark, the grimey and the oh so wrong...GARAGE.
And finally...if 4am is still not passed your bed time
The Garage is Snowbombings late night venue...under ground (under the Arena) and out of site this venue plays host to some exciting surprises until 7am all week long!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Infamous...ARCTIC DISCO
This venue is infamous for its night time rave-ups but is also a fantastic daytime chill-out venue.
The venue is open to all in the day but for the night events tickets need to be booked and paid for in addition to the entertainment wristbands.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Street Party
The famous Street Party (and many would say highlight of the week) will once again see thousands of partiers donning their best fancy dress and dancing in the street as a stage is erected for one night only in the one venue that will house all Snowbombers - the town centre!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Highway to Hell
Our Demo Session takes place at the Vans Penken Park; a gravity-abusing play area comprising of more kickers than a Pub football team, a half pipe the size of Eurotunnel, genital-threatening rails and table tops of epic proportions… Watch from the of the nearby Almhof, sit back in the sun or enjoy one of Christine’s perfect pizza’s, as people invariably younger and decidedly more talented than you, show how it’s done to a cool soundtrack provided by the Fingerlickin’ DJ’s on the terrace.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There will be lots more going around the resort so keep your eyes peeled on the website for details of Snowbombing fringe events and one off parties.
Every night at Snowbombing, we make sure that there is enough room across the clubs for everyone to go out and have a wicked time. 2008 will see most of the headliners playing in the highest capacity Europahaus. Despite this, in some cases, our venues do get full and we have to direct Snowbombers to some of our other parties. Please bear with us on this issue – we do our utmost to make sure everyone is happy, and let’s face it, we all know that nights that don’t go exactly to plan always turn out great.
