Fatboy Slim

Having smashed the Forest party in 2010 and his smiley-faced glowstick-inducing set in 2011, the Q Award Winning mighty Norman Cook is back! He enjoyed himself so much over the past couple of years that we have decided to give him his very own street party... The lucky duck! Our favoruite turntable legend will be headlining a riotous rockafella skanked-up, gangster tripped-out, open-air, fancy dress street party!

Groove Armada Present Redlight

Over the past decade, Groove Armada have become established as one of the planet's most-loved and biggest selling dance acts. The duo, Tom Findlay and Andy Cato, have stormed the charts and headlined stages at the world's biggest festivals. Then, in 2010, they redefined the GA sound. Black Light, their 6th studio album, achieved massive critical acclaim, and a year headlining festivals from Australia to Moscow ended in Los Angeles and a Grammy nomination.

Wretch 32

Everybody’s talking about 26 year old Jermaine Scott, aka Wretch 32. Adele, Jessie J and Rio Ferdinand have penned excited tweets about him, Liam Gallagher and Nikki Minaj have praised his music in interviews, 50 Cent’s blogged about him, and P Diddy and Mark Ronson have asked him to jump up on stage with them. Chipmunk, The Streets and Wiley were among the first to ask him to record with them, and Professor Green and Tinie Tempah followed suit shortly after, inviting him to support them on tour.

The Vaccines

The Vaccines formed in June 2010 by Justin Young (vocals) and Freddie Cowan (guitar) and fellow band members Anri Hjorvar (bass) and Pete Robertson (drums). 2011 has so far to date seen the rise of The Vaccines, with mentions across the media of being one of the top upcoming bands of the year. With The BBC and NME giving special interviews & inductions to the band. The future is looking rosey, where will it take them?

Labrinth

Timothy McKenzie, better known as current super hot producer Labrinth, started his big time career by producing for Master Shortie in his debut album A.D.H.D., also producing and featuring on Tinie Tempah's first single "Pass Out", which entered the UK singles charts at number 1, becoming Tinie Tempah's first single to reach top 1 and Labrinth first single to reach the top of the charts. In June 2010, Labrinth and Tinie Tempah collaborated again, on single "Frisky" where the song charted at #2, while topping the UK R&B singles charts.

The Whip

Snowbombing regulars The Whip, are back again to cause chaos in the mountain, armed with a new album. Formed in 2007 - the swaggering dancefloor inspired four piece with an ear for a pop hook culled from soaking up the vibe of Manchester's mongrel club scene. They'd all been in bands before with varying degrees of success but this was the one. Their sound was a peak time rush of euphoria crafted into songs that stayed with you way beyond 'the moment'. They clubbed, they partied and won club and live audiences over with the help of surefire detonations such as their crossover club smash 'Trash' - a riot-inducing number that assured them a peak time live slot at many of the world's most exciting clubs and venues. It was the perfect calling card for a band crafting pop out of the intangible psychic energy created by the dancefloor.

Jungle Brothers

Straight out of the Jungle and straight into Mayrhofen! The Jungle Brothers are an American hip hop group that pioneered the fusion of jazz and hip-hop and also became the first hip-hop group to use a house-music producer. The group began performing in the mid-1980s and released its first album, Straight Out the Jungle, in July 1988. With Afrocentric lyrics and innovative beats, the Jungle Brothers were critically acclaimed and soon joined the influential Native Tongues collective. The original trio comprised Michael Small (Mike Gee), Nathaniel Hall (Afrika Baby Bam, a homage to Afrika Bambaataa) and Sammy Burwell (DJ Sammy B). Sammy B left the group after the group released Raw Deluxe in May 1997. We can’t wait to welcome then to Snowbombing for an incredibly rare European festival appearance. What you waiting for?

CROOKERS

Crookers began in 2003 when two DJs, nicknamed Phra and Bot, met and paired up over a shared love of hip hop, house and the emerging skewed, bass heavy sounds pioneered by Switch in the UK and Diplo in the States. “We decided to call ourselves Crookers to descibe what we do. To make beats and tracks that are not straight-up, that are twisted or crooked.” Though they both grew up listening to a lot of hip hop (Beastie Boys, Tribe Called Quest, Madlib and J Dilla) it was when Bot bought second-hand turntables that they first got into house music. “I bought decks and the guy threw in some house records.

TENSNAKE

You know how sometimes an artist comes along and you just know that you're in for the time of your life? That's what happens when you hear a truly great Tensnake record – and right now there are already a dozen of them spinning out there in the disco hemisphere. Remember the first time you heard the dreamy, (new) romantic synths of `Congolal' or the impossibly yearning `In The End (I Want You To Cry)'? Or the feeling you felt in your feet when the Supernatural melody from `Coma Cat' first drifted into earshot? With only a handful of releases and remixes to his name, it's still early days for the man known to his nearest and dearest as Marco Niemerski. But let's get one question answered straight away: what exactly is a Tensnake and is there any way to avoid being bitten by one right now?

With High Contrast sitting firmly at dance music's top table, in 2009 he became one of a very rare number indeed, a current recording artist to have released a “best of” album - in the form of High Contrast Confidential, a massive double CD taking in the high points of his first three albums as well as all of his seminal remixes. As he reaches a decade in the game his star continues to shine brighter than ever in 2010 with rave legends Underworld bringing him in for a studio collaboration “Scribble”. Netsky

Rarely have we seen someone rise through the ranks as quickly as 22 year old Boris Daenen, a.k.a Netsky. Having secured releases on some of the biggest labels in the scene, gained DJ support from the likes of Friction, Hype, Fabio and London Elektricity, the young Belgian from Edegem near Antwerp earned a nomination as "Best Upcoming Producer" at the Drum + Bass Arena Awards in 2008 and fulfilled this ambition two years on with is “Best Newcomer Producer” award in 2010.

Seth Troxler

Through a leaking bodily cavity resembling the pork found in Chinese restaurants, Satan shat out a crystal beaming with glowing red embers. This crystal matured into the fetus of Seth Troxler. Seth was placed on earth as a weeping fetus, the sound of inevitability. As he grew, his ancestral roots took on a magnetic channelling power, more than his feeble mind could ever consciously fathom. As a result, he became capable of creating some of the worlds finest and most intuitive dance cuts, including releases and remixes on Spectral, Wagon Repair, Cross-town Rebels, M_nus, Bpitch Control, Circus Company, Items and Thing and many more…

Damian Lazarus

Since the moment he spun his first record, Damian Lazarus’s mission has been a clear and urgent one: to blow away the mediocre, the over-inflated, and the obsolete; to seek out and celebrate the energetic, the important, the new. Always rebelling, always going places. and to have fun in the process. Playing around with different styles and ideas is what I do best,” Lazarus explains. Driven by an almost childlike curiosity, a vivid imagination and wicked sense of humour, he’s used his role as a DJ, label owner and now musician to nurture and share the most exciting and experimental music on the planet. Drawn to the darkness, but buoyed by the light, ever ready to embrace new ideas and different perspectives on music and the dance floor, Lazarus is always ahead of the curve, with a wry smile on his face and a neat trick up his sleeve, How many DJs do you know who’ve played ‘Reviewing The Situation (from the Oliver! soundtrack, no less) half-speed to a jubilant crowd at DC10 in Ibiza. In his original incarnation as DJ Clipz, the producer and DJ has risen through the ranks to become one of the most celebrated and respected artists in drum n bass. Operating at the forefront of the scene, he’s played all over the globe, become part of the Full Cycle family, launched his own Audio Zoo label and been responsible for some of the genre’s most essential releases of recent years. He has performed alongside dubstep artists such as Digital Mystikz, Skream, Benga, Kode9, D1, Rusko, Kromestar, Plastician, Mary Anne Hobbs, Heny G, Scuba and Headhunter. Lindstorm

Raised on country and western music in the outskirts of the Norwegian oil town Stavanger, Lindstrom now lives in Oslo where he is making contemporary disco and running his Feedelity label. Jackmaster

As well as being the co-founder of Numbers - one of the UK's fastest rising record labels and party planners - Jackmaster is one hell of a DJ. UK Funky's poster boy is poised for his first visit to Snowbombing and we can't wait to have him. A true crossover hit and a great DJ, Roska is sure to make you sqwuark!

Ben UFO

As one of the co-founders of Hessle Audio, Ben UFO has been responsible, alongside Pearson Sound and Pangaea, for some of the most varied and ground breaking releases of recent years. Having become immersed in the still emerging dubstep scenes in London and Leeds in 2005, his musical taste was shaped primarily by the DMZ and Sub Dub nights taking place in those cities. However, as tastes have shifted and scenes have fragmented, Ben UFO's approach to the music and to Hessle Audio itself has developed.

Metro Area

Metro Area brings back the soulful experimentation of the early club classics, mixing live and electronic instruments. Simultaneously, the mood and minimalism of more recent dance music forms creep into the mix: Detroit's cold futurism, Chicago's abstract track-modes, and the warmth of New York and New Jersey's deep house.

The Glimmers

It's been a crazy decade for the Glimmers. It all started when they created Eskimo Recordings way back in 1999, a label that now hosts big shot names like Lindstrom & Prins Thomas and future disco kings Aeroplane. On that label the Glimmers released several projects and mix albums. The press loved every one of them. 'Serie Noire : Dark Pop and New Beat' (2002) was probably the most innovative one they ever did so far, and it gave The Glimmer Twins their well deserved breakthrough in the international DJ scene. Serie Noire ended up as number two in that year's list of Best Compilations in Jockey Slut magazine (R.I.P.).

Julio Bashmore

It might seem counterintuitive for a producer to detach himself from one of the planet's most thriving music scenes, but in the case of Matthew Walker, AKA Julio Bashmore, that's exactly what he did growing up in bass music hotbed, Bristol. You see, Julio's first love is house music, and this can be seen in the way he has been embraced by the scene. Eats Everything

Hungry?...You will be! Few producers of recent years have exploded onto the underground house scene like Elastic's most recent signing 'Eats Everything' aka Bristolian Daniel Pearce. While some producers spend years finding their feet, Dan made a clear statement of intent with 'Entrance Song' his debut release on Catz N Dogz 'Pet Recordings' label that peaked at number 15 in Beatport's all-genre house chart. Part of a new wave of talented producers coming out of the West Country's Bass Central, that includes Julio Bashmore and Waifs & Strays, he delivers exquisitely crafted sample heavy tracks paying homage to everything from Randy Crawford to Ray Charles.

Midland

Midland made his 2010 debut alongside long-time friend Pearson Sound aka Ramadanman with their anthemic track "Your words matter". The pair wove, defied and played with a number of genres and, in doing so, Midland laid a clear foundation stone for his vision of how electronic music could be. It is a sound that is rooted in House and Techno but with the rumbling low end of Dubstep and wide screen experimentation of classic Electronica. His contribution to the esteemed Fact Mix Series further demonstrated this diversity and wit, bringing in influences from across the sonic and musical board.  His subsequent releases on Phonica and More Music as well as remixes for Ninja Tune, Werk Discs, Southern Fried and PMR  have gained fans from many different avenues of electronic music. With wide ranging and solid support from djs including Sasha, Mary Anne Hobbs and Giles Peterson as well as further forthcoming solo and collaborative work with artists like Pariah and Ben Westbeech, Midland's intriguing, offbeat story has only just begun.

Loadstar

2010 was a pivotal year for Xample and Lomax. May saw the release of the 'shamefully, powerfully, grippingly addictive' (IDJ) 'Remember', backed by the lethal 'Rushin' Dragon', showcasing the promising depth and variety of their joint talent. After a handful of singles getting them into A listers status, the duo started to work on a debut album, and comfort their partnership by choosing a specific name. So, for the release of the awesome 'Link To The Past' ('A huge alien mammoth' - DJ Mag), they chose to be known as Loadstar. In late 2010, the single was voted 'best single' at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards, confirming their dominance of the underground.

A1 Bassline

Although A1 Bassline makes music under the house banner, you can clearly hear these influences in all of his own material. Essex born, but growing up just south of Croydon, he would (generally with school friends Kavsrave and Joy Orbison) frequent record shops such as the legendary Big Apple, Swag and secondhand store Beanos, buying garage, grime and drum and bass records. That graft has paid off as A1 Bassline is swiftly becoming one of the hottest producers in the thriving UK scene.

Ralph Lawson

Always unique, Ralph's style has developed over the years to become what is known worldwide as the 2020sound, giving reference to the label he created in 1995 which has also gone on to be one of the very best electronic music labels in the world.  From the late 90s, "the UK's best kept secret was out" and requests to tour came in from all over the world.  Never one to give into fashion he has stayed true to the spirit of House Music with always a cutting electro funk edge. Expect a rousing round up to the 2020 party at Snowbombing from the main man himself!

Blawan

Blawan had a great year, though frankly what's to come from this chap is even more exciting. With club bangers like 'Getting me Down', he's truly a producer with a clearly defined sound all of his own. So get down for his Snowbombing set and try to figure out what he's about.

Oneman

Oneman has almost single-handedly re-invented old school garage - taking the art of djing to a new level - reconceptualising 2 step garage into dubstep, grime, funky, 'wonky' and beyond. It's a kind of an unwritten rule but by and large to become a big DJ in dubstep you need either two things: An incredible arsenal of new dubplates, or a talent for production such that you have, well, an incredible arsenal of new dubplates. A true DJ's DJ and a tastemaker supreme,  get set for one of the sets of Snowbombing.

Marcus Nasty

The Rinse FM legend and Urban Nerds regular is the go to guy for a total history of classic Funky and House, and the Nasty Crew leader also keeps up to date with the newest cuts on the scene, ensuring a muscular, energetic and incredibly fun party set every time.

Geddes

Geddes is one of the true pioneers of the London house scene. Among those ahead of the game when it came to the fragmentation of the super club and the dawn of a new warehouse era, Geddes and his Mulletover party crew were integral in the rise of the underground and have helped shape the heart of its landscape and sound in the capital and beyond. When he started the now prolific Mulletover events back in 2004, it was through grit and determination and an enduring love for exploring and championing the freshest talent and securing original spaces that Geddes became a figurehead in the evolution of a thriving house and techno scene.

Boddika

With electronic music becoming more polished and quantized, Boddika’s arrival has shaken the scene to its very core, slamming down with a raw take on things that’s making all journalists scramble for the right genre tag. Is it electro? Techno? Old? New? Harking the expansive sounds of Luke Vibert, the analogue programming of Juan Atkins early work, and the rawness of the Drexciya/Dopplereffekt family, Boddika is the newest project of Al Green, 1/2 of the boundary-pushing duo that’s re-written the rules completely, Instra:mental.

Jaymo and Andy George

At the helm of one of the most exciting club nights to emerge in recent times, Jaymo & Andy George have crafted a brand that stands for cutting-edge music and sleepless nights. Their Moda parties have exploded from 300 people in a dimly lit bar to thousands of people going nuts in disused theatres, industrial warehouses, boats & super clubs all over the world! Their captivating performances are built on House, Techno & Disco with regular sidesteps into the unknown. Everything is edited, remixed and dissected especially for their DJ sets! In April 2008 Jaymo & Andy became two of the youngest people to ever record a live Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. After catching the attention of the station bosses, the boys landed their very own show just months later, taking the sound of Moda to millions of listeners around the world.

Lil Silva

21-year-old Lil Silva is fast becoming one of the most talked about artists on the UK Bass scene. Not only does he possess the musical understanding to work with genres such as American House, Funky and Grime but his ability also allows him to merge and blend styles. Silva’s flair manifests itself in his creative production techniques, showcasing a distinct sound which he looks to continually evolve. Always looking to shy away from convention, the young producer’s talents are becoming as renowned for their innovation as they are for the effect they are having on the scene.

Redinho

Redinho (pronounced Red-dean-yo), one of Number’s multi-talented rising stars, is the nom de plume of London-based producer Tom Calvert. Despite having only just released his second EP, the man has managed to sneak into the public consciousness thanks to the instantly sold out Bare Blips EP (released on Numbers in 2010), a series of genre-bending shows across Europe, America, and now his most recent release, the Edge Off EP.

Spencer

From early beginnings in working in Glasgow's world-renowned record store Rubadub, honing his DJing skills with schoolfriend Jackmaster, and co-hosting Detroit techno legend Claude Young's radio shows - to working at Warp Records and now living in London; Spencer has been a key player in aiding the city's recent rise to fame as an essential exporter of electronic music.

Martelo

A well known member of the yoyo family who consistently blow the roof off any party they throw, he has been the International Tour DJ for Santigold since 2007, as recommended by Diplo, and has played festivals all over the planet from Coachella (LA) to Summersonic (Japan) to Field Day (Aus) right back to Glastonbury (England).

Tayo

A Snowbombing regular and a top skier, Tayo's tracksuit parties have become the stuff of legend over the years. A top DJ as-well as being a sharply attired man, Tayo's DJ sets are an unpredictable mash-up of genres, decades and styles.

Sombrero Sound System

Duncan Turner and Jonny Bain had been throwing parties and generally larking about the London scene, and beyond, for several years before their like-minded ear for a great tune (no matter what genre) and their search for the ultimate knees-up-mother-brown brought them together - and Sombrero was born.
Recent DJ highlights include notching up their 10th consecutive year at Snowbombing festival and playing each and every Sunday Best party at the Lock Tavern in Camden.

George Fitzgerald

The last few years have been as experimentally freewheeling as any in the history of electronic music, and there are few finer examples to support that argument than London-born and bred beatsmith, George FitzGerald. With releases on Hotflush, Aus, and his own imprint, ManMakeMusic, his productions combine with exceptional style and grace both the warmer, melodic sides of house and garage with the more heated, pounding drum patterns of dubstep and techno. All the best producers have hallmarks, and FitzGerald's are evident in his measurement, his awareness of light and space and his use of searing chord lines. His is the lightness that makes the darkness, seem darker.

Rattus Rattus

Urban Nerds resident rodent-in-chief mixes it up like a looter in 'Laptops for Less'; reaching out and wildly grabbing genres, which are thrown together without respect. If the electro, dubstep, garage and bassline don't get you, the dexterity and merciless pace will.

Klose One

Urban Nerds resident Klose One first came to prominence on North London's pirate stations. Now regularly playing out in the London club scene and around the country, Klose One refuses to be pigeonholed into one genre or scene; instead preferring to whip out fast-paced sets which go through musical genres like Eamon Holmes goes through sticky toffee pudding. You may / may not hear: dub step, 2-step, bassline, hip hop, bashment, breakbeat, electro and classic dance tracks.

Caze Nove

Caze Nove were nurtured on a breakfast of soul & funk, cooked up disco and jackin beats, all put to boil to create one big ass groove. Heavily influenced by the early sounds of Chicago & Detroit house and by artists like Larry Levan, Moodymann, Metro Area & DerrickCarter. They made their debut at Fabric at the start of 2011. Their remix of Metronomy caused magical waves of enjoyment in the latter half of 2011 with love from BBC Radio 1, Dazed & Confused, Mixmag and NME. The pair are currently writing their third EP. Their party The Roxy takes place at Snowbombing and various exciting places in 2012.

Marc Roberts

When he's not programming the DJ's for us, or running his notorious Notting Hill Carnival after-parties, Marc has been pimping his self-indulgent eclectic electronica around Europe and beyond for a decade and a half. Picking up gigs for the likes of Bugged Out! And Chibuku and playing at festivals such as Global Gathering and Creamfields along the way, his biggest highlight was playing to 750,000 people on a float at the Rotterdam Street Parade in 2005.

Sophie Lloyd

A disco queen and purist. Blending classic disco, nu disco, house and italo for the most subtle situations. Sophie has played at a huge variety of events and is also resident at Shoreditch House.  Musical flexibility and the ability to read a crowd is her key. As a face on the East London club scene, Sophie co-promotes 'Village Disco' at East Village with Faith's Stuart Patterson. She's also a regular DJ at Jade Jaggers Jezebel parties, and is a resident for Pump up the Volume. On weekends she can be found DJing at various filthy late night disco clubs around the UK.

Danny Raper

2020 Vision’s in house promoter and resident DJ, Danny will be making sure the 2020 Snowbombing party gets off to a suitably smooth start. Expect classic house numbers and cuts from the 2020 label itself.

Prophecy

One of the key figures behind mega Northern Clubnight ‘Metropolis’, Prophecy is swiftly making a name for himself as a serious producer and DJ. No stranger to the most hallowed DJ booths and venues in the UK and Europe, Prophecy’s new productions have been blasted out by the likes of Skream and Benga, Rusko and many more.

Youngman

Emcee supreme to Skream and Benga, Youngman has also steadily built his name as an exciting artist in his own right. Signed to Shy FX’s Digital Soundboy label and with an album on the cards, Youngman’s consistent rave destroying appearances suggest an artist nearing the top of his game.

Raffle Mafia

Party Legends Raffle Mafia (Bingo Banton and DJ Smash Hits) are taking you to the mountains for what is set to be their biggest week of boozy rave fuelled nonsense to date...this semi professional duo have been raving their extra medium sized socks off this year playing at all manfer of parties and festivals. With full team and an undisclosed pound shop budget, expect big prizes and even bigger winners. 90's dance is hitting the slopes in a big way with Bingo Banton and DJ Smash Hits (Raffle Mafia) as your hosts. This duo come mob handed so expect dozens of top name special guests wherever they might be. If you see them on the street-smile and wave, and if you see them in the dance-smile and rave!!!

With sky high igloo parties, open-air forest raves, secret backcountry shindigs and Austria's biggest fancy dress street party... At Snowbombing, we tear up the rulebook and dare you to dance somewhere different.

Party in the Eristoff Forest

"The Arctic Disco is a venue to knock your socks off each time you see it and the Forest stage is something quite special... I'd love to go back..." - Virtual Festivals

The now famous Waldfestplatz (the amazing Eristoff forest where The Prodigy, The Correspondents, Beardyman, Fatboy Slim, De la Soul, Krafty Kuts, Madness, 2ManyDJs and many more have played) will once again see the whole population of Mayrhofen donning their scarves and winter warmers and heading to the woods for a few amazing planned performances. Where better to party than in the middle of the woods in an Alpine mountain town.

We turn the surrounding traditional Austrian shacks into bars and sausage factories, bring down a massive sound system and stadium size video screen and turn the old wooden stage (usually reserved for lederhosen-slapping dance troops and local weddings) into a pine-cradled platform for some of the world's best artists!

Arctic Disco

The coolest party you'll ever attend

"Keep your Full Moon parties and tell Ibiza to go jump, because once you've danced in an igloo on top of a mountain in the Austrian Alps, nothing really comes close." - TNT Mag

Sat on a plateau high above Mayrhofen, is a party venue unlike any other you will ever visit. Sculpted from eternal ice and snow; the Arctic Disco is a destination without equal. A meandering corridor leads to two dance areas; a chill out space complete with luxurious fur rugs and three bars (the house speciality is a cocktail served in ice glasses). Outside, star gazers sip warm drinks around a roaring fire and gaze in wonder at the unique atmospheric display viewable at this altitude. Partying doesn't get any cooler. Literally.

Although its reputation as a star-lit night-time party venue is strong, the Arctic Disco is also a fantastic daytime chill-out venue... Enjoy the beats and spring sunshine, reclining in deckchairs, or better still, book yourself an igloo and stay overnight on the mountain! There's a sauna and the world's cosiest sleeping bags to keep yourselves warm. File under; 'One to tell the grand kids about,' basically.

(The Igloo is open to all in the daytime but tickets for the night events need to be booked and paid for in addition to your standard Snowbombing entertainment wristband.)

The Arctic Disco costs a mere 39GBP and is worth every penny. To book; add the option when you book accommodation or log back into your booking and add it later.

Street Party

Its a roadblock... Literally!

''Unbelievable - Like an explosion in a fancy dress shop'' - Mr Motivator

We stop the traffic, park a stadium rock Funktion 1 P.A system right across the main street, set up loads of bars and invite the entire population of Mayrhofen to join the fancy dress party. The street party is undoubtedly one of the highlights of Snowbombing. It kicks off in the mid-afternoon in the glorious sunshine and ends in darkness in the late evening. Fancy dress themes having included: Superheroes, mythical heroes, animals, inflatable Viking ships, retro-skiwear... And Bill Oddie.

Last time around, 'bombers' were invited to "Royal Wedding" - There were no rules, no boundaries and freedom of expression meant that the daring mistresses danced with gorillas, George Bush embraced Osama and a banana even snogged another banana in what was the biggest fancy dress party ever seen in Austria!

Snowbombing's finest presided over packed pavements, aurally assaulting the asphalt and adoring crowds as bemused locals looked on, wondering if things would ever be the same again in their quiet li'l village...

The Racket Club

An over head smash

During Snowbombing, this vast underground tennis centre is completely transformed to create a 3000 capacity concert and club venue. Massive sound system, huge dance floor and a subterranean vibe which is unmatched across the mountains. Going underground has never been as much fun (well not since the great Circle Line party of 2008)!

Handily located in the middle of town, our host venue has witnessed some electrifying live sets over the last few years: Sub Focus, Chase & Status, Example, DJ Yoda, Magnetic Man, Pendulum, Grandmaster Flash, Dizzee Rascal, The Enemy, Dirty Pretty Things and Friendly Fires to name a few. Production values here are worthy of any venue... Sound is crystal clear and lighting is state-of-the-art. As every Snowbomber knows, there's nothing like a bit of Raquet to make the party swing.

Schlussel

Sauna Clubbing!

Affectionately nick-named the 'sweat-box' by Snowbombing regulars, this traditional wooden venue is always a favourite: Yer traditional wooden Austrian alpine holiday disco with beefed up sound and lights, which results in a uniquely steamy atmosphere...

DJs who have rocked the Schlussel include James Zabiela, Henry Schwarz, Jackmaster, Jaguar Skills, Bones, Nic Fanciulli, Moodymann, Ewan Pearson, Todd Terje, Greg Wilson, Kris Menace and Jamie Jones...

"Baby, it might be cold outside, but at Snowbombing everything is sweltering." - NME

Arena

The late, late show!

One of our favourite DJ venues and always kicking until the small hours is the Arena. Nestling naughtily beneath our HQ Hotel (The Strass), the Arena has seen a long list of superstar DJs over the years including Tayo and his ever colourful Tracksuit Party, Rodigan, Toddla T, Joker, Shy FX, Skream, Fake Blood, DJ Yoda, Jon Carter, Justin Robertson, DJ Marky, James Zabiela and many many more... And with an extended licence until 7am and extra sound in 2011, the Arena was the place to be.

Backcountry Party

This Party Is A Trip

You get taken by coach though the centre of a mountain (in a 2 km long tunnel) to "the forgotten valley" of Floitental. The coach then climbs up the steep sided valley (snow conditions allowing) through a wild forest, past the waterfall, to snowfields which lead to the Tux, glacier. Here you'll spend your evening in a unique venue: the 200 year old Tristenbachalm: A converted traditional wooden farmstead which possesses a sound system, split level bars, balcony, minstrels gallery, stage and...Decks of course!

"The atmosphere is so far removed from the gloom back home it's like stepping into another world." - IDJ magazine

Outside on the terrace, traditional musicians play and fires will keep you warm under the stars, as plucky souls Challenge the Lumberjack in a series of tree-trunk lifting and log-carrying tests of strength, spirit and sobriety...

The BCP costs a mere 30GBP and is worth every penny.

Sports Bar

Intimate and infectious

Hosting apres ski fun and games on the terrace outside, followed by a line-up of fantastic live bands in the evening this centrally located and intimate venue has seen some of Snowbombings best live gigs over the past few years including: Cafe Del Mar, Squeaky Hill, Eliza Doolittle, The Noisettes, The Courteeners, Lightspeed Champion, Kid Carpet, Metros and many more...

Snowbombers love it because it offers a unique chance to get up-front-and-personal with all the bands who'll be playing on festival stages and in huge arenas as the summer sun climbs higher.

"One of the loudest and gleefully received events of the year. Summer's going to have to pull something seriously heavy out of the bag to top this." - IDJ Magazine

Mountain Stage

Higher than the clouds

"The sun sets behind some of the most stunning scenery you're ever likely to clap your eyes on." - IDJ Magazine
Snowbombing afternoons are spent beneath blue skies at 5000 feet above sea level, drinking cool golden beer (and er, eating golden chips), and being aurally massaged by the only arena which sees the stage manager leave work on a paraglider!

Loose Cannons leading a mass mosh pit in the snow to Rage Against the Machine, Petty Crooks pumping out the Feel Good Tunes and Squeaky Hill running around with targets around their heads encouraging the snowball flight of the century... It's just another day at the office for the mountain stagers who catch springtime sunshine to a cheese-free mountain musical soundtrack (and if you've ever been on a normal ski holiday, you'll appreciate just what this means!). A unique aspects of Snowbombing.

Pro-Rider Party In The Park

Don't try this at home!

The park in question being the Vans Penken Park; a gravity-abusing play area comprising of more kickers than a Pub football team, a half pipe the size of the Eurotunnel, genital-threatening rails and table tops of epic proportions. Watch from the of the nearby Almhof, sit back in the sun or enjoy one of Christine's perfect pizza's on the Terrace, as people invariably younger and decidedly more talented than you, show how it's done to a cool soundtrack provided by a selection of DJ's.

The pro-comp is three days of true grit and false moustache's all washed down with copious amounts of schnapps and dancing on the Sun terrace of a nearby mountain restaurant.
Fancy dress-clad teams leisurely tour the ski area, undertaking tasks and overtaking common sense and decorum. Imagine a dressing up party for 6 year olds meets Ski Sunday.

2011 saw some of Europe's top riders getting their legs over a stunning Swedish model. Easy tiger - we're talking about them performing big air tricks and flips over a Volvo XC60, which formed an unusual kicker.

Snowbombers complete a boarder cross course on which there are prizes hidden inside objects. A balloon-popping, swag-bag grabbing test of snowboarding skills, balance and nerve.

Pro-riders do exactly the same... Skillfully navigate a praline course through the award-winning terrain-park... Except as they're professionals - and get paid for it - They collect cash as they descend in a money-grabbing, yet graceful demonstration of their earning power!

View Footage from Ride and Seek at Snowbombing 2010 here!

Mo's

Savoury Bites and Juicy Fun

Slightly more chilled and serving food until late, the parties in Mo's revolve around participation. From the 'Just Press Play Party' (iPod battle) to Open Mic Nights and Musical Blingo, Mo's is more gregarious than Graham Norton and tastier than Keeley Hazell with a reputation for informal interactive fun with steaks, burgers and chicken wings!

Europahaus

A huge space-age state-of-the-art conference centre was host to our comedy and various tomfoolery. The Europahaus Basement; next to The Racket Club at the bottom end of town. It looks like a huge UFO and was brand spanking new for 2011...Out of this world!

It played host to some fantastic nights including Jamie Woon, Totaly Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Talking Pictures and our very own King Of The Mountain competition which saw crowds pulsate and jive with their inspiring new sounds.

Bruck N Stadl

A new venue for 2011… The Bruck N Stadl has instantly become a favourite for Snowbombers and artists alike. This traditional looking giant wooden venue boasts a capacity of 750 and has a huge funktion 1 sound system, resulting in a unique atmosphere crossed between a Tyrolean bar / shed and an East-London Warehouse rave. We love this venue and we think you will too.

DJs who have rocked the Bruck N Stadl include: James Zabiela, Jamie Jones, Carl Craig, Ewan Pearson, Todd Terje, Ramadanman, Dixon, Oneman, SBTRK and many more.

ROMPA'S REGGEA SHACK

SB:12 unveils a brand new mountain music venue courtesy of Urban Nerds legend and Snowbombing veteran Rompa! Rompa’s Reggae Shack will showcase the smoothest most laidback joints in a stunning alpine setting, on a purpose-built sun terrace some 5000 feet above sea level, with spectacular views over the surrounding slopes. Situated at the bottom of Red 7, on the right hand side in the ‘Eisberg Hutte‘, the Reggae Shack stocks the finest roots, ska and dub nuggets. DJs on rotation will include Fattie Boom Boom, Savage Henry, Daddy Nature, Dusty Lungs, Sai, and The Farm Yardies.

Every night at Snowbombing, we make sure that there is enough room across all of our clubs for everyone to go out and have a wicked time. In some cases, our venues do reach capacity and we have to direct Snowbombers to other parties. Please bear with us on this issue... We do our utmost to make sure everyone is happy!

Snowbombing Presents the Ignition Tour 2011-2012!

Just as Autumn falls upon us, the leaves go golden brown, you jump out of your skin at fireworks, and you don’t play conkers, Snowbombing presents IGNITION.

In-between service stations and Lucky Chef restaurants we’ll be hitting the country’s top cities and clubs, bringing the noise with our standard blend of unbelievable artists and DJ’s, unique event production and the type of madness one can only discover on the slopes and in the clubs of Mayrhofen.

Make sure you keep an eye out for Snowbombing parties in your town this Autumn/Winter, as we attempt to leave no stone uncovered in our mission to promote the best Snow festival around.

King of the Mountain

It’s our very own ‘X(treme sports) Factor!' Our annual battle of the bands (which we run together with our pals at gigwise.com) is under wraps!  KOTM is YOUR chance to appear on a festival bill alongside The Prodigy, Pendulum & Fatboy Slim and strut your stuff on a stage in the middle of the mountains in front of a panel of industry experts, the UK’s coolest media and 5000 Snowbombers.

Once again we gave four unsigned bands the opportunity to battle it out on a stage at Europe’s greatest show on snow and crowned the victorious act King of the Mountain (along with a cool cash prize of 2000 Euros!).

Thank you to all 114 bands who entered KOTM 2011.

CHECK OUT THE 4 FINALISTS:

The Winning Band - 2011

Congrats to the new KINGS OF THE MOUNTAIN, THE BLACK SAND!

You were magnificent and we send you on your way with a huge cheque and bags of goodwill. If you can make it at Snowbombing; you can make it anywhere!... Remember us when you go Double Platinum tho', eh?!

KOTM 2010 - Results

The high-altitude battle of the bands brought a fiercely fought final to the Austrian Alps, but Gigwise finally awarded the coveted title to Brightons finest purveyors of pleasure KING PORTER STOMP, whose infectious brand of ska infused with hip hop delivered vocals and wrapped up in a dub stylee coating won the day.

The winning band not only won 2000 Euros but they also performed an SMASHING acoustic set at the Clash Party on the mountain stage supporting Snowbombing faves – The Whip!

Amazing result, Congratulations fellas - All the best for the future! And while we're at it, respect for all the bands who travelled over to Mayrhofen and did their thing in the mountains at the Gigwise King of the Mountain - you rocked!

KOTM 2009 Results

In 2009 I Am Austin, a really dope alt. drum & bass / electro duo walked away from 'Der Hof' with a giant sized cheque in hand, a blonde on each arm and a string of SMS's from Kate Moss...(err well that's what they told us).

So keep an eye and ear out for our worthy winners, and remember their name as they tread the path to fame, infamy and doing things loud.

January 2012 will see Snowbombing Occupying resorts across Europe and moving against musical mediocrity and dancefloor injustice! Across Europe we’ll be OCCUPYING the public squares and coolest venues and making a stand for the values we passionately believe in: great music from quality DJ’s and the kind of cheese-free parties we believe EVERY skier and ‘boarder has a right to access!

We’ll do a total of 8 parties: inciting French revolution in Chamonix ,Val Thoren, Tignes and Les Arcs, with incendiary incidents of OCCUPational audio therapy from last year’s musical MISSION-aries URBAN KNIGHTS, Jack Beats and Pendulum.

Below is a list of all the Occupy dates in a resort near you!
