2011, what a year. The year that the premier music and snow festival Volvo Snowbombing accelerated rapidly and became truly pan-European. Launch parties in Germany, Holland and Italy - Roadtrippers converging from all corners of the continent, pimped-up fancy-dress cars, Car-aoke contests and a World Class artist playing at the Volvo Ice Camp during the festival. Revved-up snowbound randomness on a grand scale...

THE DAY TRIP TO END ALL DAY TRIPS...

The Volvo ICE CAMP: 4 huge igloos (including an ice bar and car showroom!), 7 separate sleeping igloos, barrel sauna, heated Jacuzzi, ice climbing tower and avalanche safety area. It is Sculpted from snow in the heart of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier. At Volvo Snowbombing 2011, We raised the bar to 250 lucky competition winners, who spent an exclusive day listening amidst the glistening snow, as Sophie Llyod and Mark Ronson played an exclusive set which undoubtedly became one of the most talked about gigs of the festival. Trust us when we say it was very special!

A Series of Volvo Cross Country Misadventures

We wanted to let everyone know just how good Volvo Snowbombing is, so we assembled a crack team of sonic snow soldiers and handed them a mighty mountainous mission: To generate the Volvo Snowbombing vibe in eight premier powdery playgrounds across Austria, Switzerland & France! Our top agents include: THE URBAN KNIGHTS and their support crew; including SUB FOCUS, JAMES ZABIELA & MISTAJAM whose weapons of choice were two of Volvos coolest cars... A passion red XC60 & a Sapphire Black XC90 fully loaded with Pioneer CDJ1000's & Video Screens for VJ-ing. In short a mobile disco done the Volvo Snowbombing way!

FULLY INTERGRATED WITH THE MAYRHOFEN RESORT

Volvo Snowbombing had high visibility in the festival's home resort of Mayrhofen throughout the 2010-11 winter season. Every major billboard site featured the event and its unprecedented musical line up of live acts and DJ's, as well as introducing the exciting new Volvo V60 & S60 cars. Both models possess innovative safety and performance features, including revolutionary pedestrian detection and precision acceleration and reflect the dynamic driving spirit of Volvo Snowbombing...Tearing up the rulebook and breaking the mould created a hi-vis Volvo presence to an international audience comprised of UK, German, Dutch, Swedish and Russian guests. Volvo Snowbombing will run through the veins of Mayrhofen: Locked and loaded...Waiting to explode!

A HIGH-OCTANE HOLY TRINITY!

We marked our official launches in Europe by turning the party ignition not once, not twice, but three times this winter celebrating our musical motorcade with revved-up, volume-up launch parties in Germany, The Netherlands and Italy! A three pronged aural attack of top turntablism in Amstrerdam, Berlin and Milan. Each city witnessed a major international DJ spinning the wheels of steel at an un-missable party hosted by the leading club promoter in each city: A hi-octane holy trinity of hot tunes brought to you by Volvo Snowbombing!

MOBILE BLIZZARD!

We were on the road again... The Volvo Snowbombing UK Club Tour is a devil may care voyage of disco(very) which stopped off and sprinkled Volvo Snowbombing lunacy on the UK's clubbing hotspots. From golden leafed October 2010 to the freezing months of February 2011, we covered more miles, stared at the SatNav and ate more pasties and bags of Wine Gums than ever before! Our club tour touched down in the UK's coolest cities and gave you folk a slice of the Volvo Snowbombing-sculpted shenanigans and on-the-button beats from our touring troupe of tyre turning turntablists.

THE ONLY WAY TO GO...

It's the most enjoyable way top get to Volvo Snowbombing. It's tons more fun than being cooped up on a low cost flight, and you'll remember it for the rest of your life! Its the Volvo Snowbombing Road Trip: A slightly unhinged, colourful, non competitive musically-motivated motorcade which sees teams join a variety of music acts, celebrities and adventure-seeking Snowbombers drive out to what is Europe's greatest show on snow.

Trans Europ Express

2011 saw the pan-European expansion of the Road Trip. In addition to 120 cars which set off from our departure point in the UK, the Volvo Road Trip also put its foot down across start lines in Germany (Berlin), Holland (Amsterdam) and Italy (Milan)!

The end is nigh...

After a leisurely drive from the UK, Holland and Germany, drivers and their crews made an overnight pleasurable pit stop in Frankfurt.

They then had a rendezvous with their Italian 'brothers in seatbelts' the following afternoon, just outside Mayrhofen in the Hippach car park.

Once here they met and greeted one another in an atmosphere best described and unleaded and slightly unhinged!

Volvo Snowbombing offered 250 Snowbombers the golden opportunity to live the dream and spend an unforgettable VIP day at the VOLVO ICE CAMP with one of the World's biggest dance music names. The Volvo Ice Camp is a sub zero paradise, reflecting a passion for sports, design and nature. Each golden ticket included return coach travel from Snowbombing to Kitzsteinhornglacier; lift pass, BBQ lunch, drinks, participation in all Volvo Ice Camp activities and an exclusive party set from the one and only Mark Ronson!
