BOOK SB24

FAQs

General

The official core festival dates are Monday 8th April – Saturday 13th April 2024. However, for those looking to attend our opening parties and maximise their time in the mountains, we recommend arriving on Saturday 6th or Sunday 7th April, and departing on Sunday 14th.

For those still in resort, we offer an End Of Season Party at The Brück’n Stadl on Saturday 13th April.

Your wristband gets you into all announced Snowbombing venues, parties and events – except for a select few ticketed events including Mountaintop Brunch and Bongo’s Bingo at The Racket Club. In order to attend these ticketed events, you will need to book online and add ticket(s) as an optional extra from your Customer Dashboard.

If the event takes place and travelling to Austria is possible, but you decide to cancel your booking and not attend, you may be eligible for a partial refund however cancellation charges will apply. Please see our Terms and Conditions for further information.

We’d recommend you have comprehensive travel insurance in place, with sufficient cover for cancellation.

Extras

Once you’ve booked your festival and accommodation package, you can login to your Customer Dashboard to add extras. Optional extras include: Lift Passes, Ski & Snowboard Equipment Hire, Ski & Snowboard Lessons, VIP Upgrades, Mountaintop Brunch tickets and the Official Snowbombing Road Trip. Please note, the deadline to add Equipment Hire and Airport Transfers is Friday 29th March 2024.

*We strongly advise against booking extras on arrival/departure dates – refunds will not be provided for any events/lessons/acts missed or due to delayed travel.

Your VIP ticket will grant you fast track wristband collection on arrival, fast track entry to all venues, VIP areas and bars for quicker service at The Racket Club, The Brück’n Stadl and The Street Party, 10% off merchandise at the event, a free welcome drink on arrival and exclusive access to our new VIP and hospitality bar, The Vault!

Please show your VIP wristband at the merchandise stand for your 10% discount. Your free drink will be automatically loaded onto your wristband and will get you a beer, White Claw, shot, single spirit & mixer, or soft drink.

Yes, you can pre-book a lift pass via your Customer Dashboard. With prices matching those available in resort, why not save yourself the hassle and skip the queue when collecting your pass.

There are a variety of options available with 1-7 day passes, to be used on consecutive days, or 4-in-6, 5-in-7 and 6-in-7 multi-passes if you’re looking for more flexibility.

Lift passes purchased through Snowbombing will allow you access to the whole Zillertal Ski Area, meaning you will have over 600+km of terrain & a glacier to explore!

For prices and the full list of options, please see our Extras page here.

When you collect your lift pass, you will need to pay a €2 refundable deposit in cash and will be given a receipt – keep this receipt safe and take note (or take a photo) of the number on it so that if you lose your lift pass, you can quickly and easily be issued with a new one. Please ensure that nothing is written on your lift pass. Lift passes are reused, so wiping off any writing or drawings, especially in a waterproof pen creates more unnecessary work for our lovely pals over at the Lift Pass company.

Yes, you can pre-book your equipment hire via your Customer Dashboard. Pre-booking is highly recommended, as sizing options may be limited when you arrive at the resort. Please note, hire shops generally don’t do boot hire above a size 10 and any shops that do have limited stock, so if you wear any size higher than this it is recommended that you take your own boots along with you to avoid disappointment. Hire shops often charge extra for helmets too, so it is highly recommended to bring your own.

For information including prices and package options please see our Extras page HERE.

You can collect your pre-booked equipment from the hire shop you have been allocated. The name and address of your allocated hire shop will be on your e-ticket. You must collect and return your equipment to your specified shop.

Although it’s advised you pre-book your ski equipment before arriving at the festival, you can hire ski equipment in-resort. We cannot guarantee that your size will be available if you choose to hire in the resort.

Yes, ski and snowboard lessons can also be booked via your Customer Dashboard

Whether you’re a complete beginner looking for a multi-lesson package or you’re a seasoned pro in need of a quick refresher, we have a variety of group and private lessons available for all levels. For more information on prices and the type of lesson packages available please see the Extras page HERE.

The Festival

If you’ve never been to a ski resort before, or you’ve never experienced a music festival in the heart of the mountains, here’s the basics you’ll need:

  • Waterproofs: some sturdy ski pants and a ski jacket will make sure you’re warm and dry while you’re whizzing down the slopes or dancing the day away at our mountaintop venues.
  • Layers: pile on the layers so you’re warm, these will keep you toastier than one big jacket.
  • Sun cream: the climate can be deceiving! It’s easy to get burnt, even if there isn’t much sun; the altitude makes you more susceptible to the UV. Make sure you bring plenty of decent sun cream, and some high factor balm to protect your lips.
  • Sunglasses/goggles: ensure your sunglasses provide UV protection to protect your eyes and give you a clearer view of the mountains.
  • Footwear: trainers are perfect for walking around the village, but bring a decent pair of snow boots for the mountain.
  • Skis/snowboard: equipment is available to hire in the resort – or you can bring your own, just make sure you book a space on your SB airport transfer!
  • Towel/swimwear: make use of the incredible swimming pools and spas available at Snowbombing.
  • Fancy dress: get your costumes ready for a week of incredible Fancy Dress opportunities! See full Fancy Dress schedule for SB24 HERE.
  • Festival wear: the dress code is whatever you want it to be. Dress to impress or keep it casual – anything goes in this home away from home.

The festival is split between two types of venues: the mountain venues and the in-town venues, with events scheduled across the entire week. Click HERE to see the full list of venues.

Each day, each venue opens and closes at various times, with music playing from 12pm-6am across the resort. The mountain venue events take place between 12-4pm, before the night kicks off at the in-town venues from 4pm onwards, with some musical events going on until 6am. You can find the full schedule in the lineup section of the app.

The streets have limited parking places throughout the resort. Some of the larger hotels offer parking, but this may be limited and come at a cost, so please check with your hotel first.

There is a train station in the centre of Mayrhofen town that services indirect trains from Munich and Innsbruck airport. These can be viewed HERE.

There is a ski bus that tours all of the surrounding areas of Mayrhofen (including Hippach & Ramsau) that runs every 30 minutes during the day, up until 5.30pm. When this bus stops, there is a night bus running the same route every 30 minutes. This will run until the early hours of the morning, meaning you will be able to get back to your accommodation with ease when leaving the late night music venues.

Yes, as a tourist in another country, you will have to pay tourist tax when you check into your hotel. This is usually only a small fee per person.

Cashless

In 2015, we introduced RFID technology to Snowbombing and we’ve not looked back since! This technology is full of loads of great benefits: minimal queuing at Cashless bars, no fumbling with coins/tokens, no trips to the ATM or carrying around large amounts of cash at Cashless venues, and an enhanced overall experience!

RFID technology is used to control your access to Cashless venues and enable you to buy drinks or merchandise at Snowbombing Cashless venues without carrying cash – hence Snowbombing Cashless.

You load (aka “top up”) funds onto your wristband through your online Snowbombing Cashless account and then, at the event, use your pre-loaded wristband to pay for drinks and merchandise. Simply ‘Tap’ your wristband once at the till to check your balance, then tap again to complete your payment!

As well as the online top-up service, we provide plenty of Top-Up Points around the resort for you to keep your wristband loaded. To save yourself queuing time, we’d recommend topping up online!

Creating a Snowbombing Cashless account is easy at snowbombing.com/cashless. It’s not necessary to create an account before the festival, but we encourage you to do so to save time once you’re here. When you arrive at the festival site, you’ll need to go to the Wristband Collection at Europahaus with your festival ticket to collect your Cashless wristband and link it to your online Cashless account. Then you’re all ready to go!

You can create a Cashless account and add money to it before arriving at the festival. You can use either a debit card or a credit card. For the best exchange rates, we recommend using a currency card such as Monzo or Revolut. Topping up in advance will mean no queuing when you get to the festival, and will also earn you some free “Bonus Bucks” for being so organised when you spend a certain amount.

If you’d rather top up when you arrive at the festival, we would still recommend doing this online via the website (snowbombing.com/cashless) or via the festival app. However, you can also use one of the numerous Top-Up stations across the festival. Please note: all the Top-Up Points accept debit and credit cards only, to make things quicker and save you carrying loads of cash. There will be one cash Top-Up Point at the Europahaus throughout the week, for those who’d like to top-up with cash. Please note: cash top-ups will only be in Euros, we do not accept GBP.e event.

Cashless payments can be made at The Racket Club, The Fun Haus, The Street Party, The Brück’n Stadl, The Vault, The Strass Bar and at official Snowbombing merchandise stands around the festival site.

The mountain venues and the local Mayrhofen bars and restaurants do not accept Cashless payments. Please ensure that you are carrying an alternative payment method (e.g. cash or card) to make payments in these venues.

The free Bonus Bucks will automatically be added to your account when you top up the amounts below:

– Top-up €200 and get €20 free bonus bucks
– Top-up €300 and get €30 free bonus bucks
– Top-up €400 and get €40 free bonus bucks
– Top-up €500 and get €50 free bonus bucks

This free credit can only be accessed once you’ve spent your actual funds. Any unspent Bonus Bucks will be non-refundable once the festival is finished.

Your account will be set up in Euros, and any top-up funds you add to your account will be deposited in Euros. If topping up from a GBP debit or credit card, your bank’s exchange rate will apply. All payments made in Mayrhofen are in Euros.

Never worry about running out of funds! Set your Cashless account to “Auto Top Up” and whenever your card balance falls below €10, it will automatically top up with €50. That way, you can guarantee you’ll always have money on your wristband when you head to the bar! Don’t worry, if you change your mind you can opt-out at any time.

When using the online Snowbombing Cashless service, the minimum amount you can top up is €5 and the maximum amount you can top up is €500, allowing you to control your spending and set a budget that suits you.

Debit or credit cards can be used to top up your wristband, but not for making payments at the Snowbombing Cashless bars. Our Snowbombing Cashless bars will only accept payment via your cashless wristband.

Entry and exit to all in-town Snowbombing operated venues is controlled via RFID technology, so you will need your Cashless wristband in order to gain access to them. The Snowbombing bars, with the exception of a few, are also all Cashless only, so if you want a drink, you need to top up!

After you purchase anything, the vendor will be able to show you your balance. If you create a Cashless account in advance, you can also check your balance at any time via the festival app or at snowbombing.com/cashless. You can also visit the Top-Up stations on-site to check your balance.

By having created a Snowbombing Cashless account and linking your wristband to it, you can see a history of all your top ups and purchases in your account. From here, you can also download PDF receipts if required.

You don’t have to create an account in advance, but we recommend that you do to make your arrival at the festival as easy and smooth as possible. We’re also offering free Bonus Bucks if you top-up over €200 in advance of arriving.

By the time you arrive at the resort, you should have created your Cashless account, linked your e-ticket and topped-up your funds. Now all you need is your wristband! Wristbands will be issued on arrival. Go to the clearly signposted Wristband Exchange point at the Europahaus, armed with your printed e-ticket (the one with the QR code on it) and your photo ID. Here, staff will quickly scan your e-ticket and link the personal ‘Snowbombing Cashless’ account you’ve created to your wristband, before sticking it on your wrist and sending you on your way.

If you lose your wristband, you can block it by visiting our onsite Customer Service desk at the Europahaus, but only if you have created an account or know the 6-digit code on the back of your wristband chip. You will be able to get a new wristband, which will be credited with the balance of the Cashless account that you have blocked. If you do not create a Cashless account, then blocking your lost wristband is impossible as we won’t have the unique reference number. This is a key reason we highly advise that you create your Cashless account in advance.

Yes, everyone attending SB24 will need and have their own Cashless wristband. These wristbands will not only hold your money but allow you access to all in-town Snowbombing venues.

Absolutely. We have partnered with Weezevent, a proven cashless provider for hundreds of events across Europe. Your money is very safe in your Cashless account and on your wristband. It is highly advised to create a Cashless account so that if anything happens to your festival wristband, we can transfer the money to a new one.

No problem, this can easily be rectified by the bar staff who took your order.

The data we collect is very useful when it comes to operational purposes – especially for staffing and providing the best range of food and drinks. We do not use it to study what individuals do and none of the spending data is passed on to any third party. Our GDPR policy extends to cover the use of your data in our Cashless system.

Don’t worry about putting too much credit on your account; if you’ve created a Cashless account, it’s super quick and easy to request a refund. All the money left on your Cashless account at the end of the festival can be refunded to your account or donated to our charity partner, War Child. The refund window will open a few days after the festival finishes, at 10:00 on Tuesday 16th April, and you’ll be able to apply for a refund via the Cashless section of the festival app or at snowbombing.com/cashless.

To claim any leftover funds after the festival, you must have a minimum of €2 left in your account. You will not be charged a processing fee for refunds. We aim to process all refunds within 30 working days of the date the refund request has been submitted. If you have not created a Cashless account but would still like to apply for a refund, then you simply just need to register your wristband with your email, name, wristband number and bank card so we can process the refund back to you.

Absolutely not, there is no GPS tracking system in the cards. It is simply a payment solution.
