Urban Nerds

are doing Snowbombing 2012

Once again, we're hitting the awesome slopes, fantastic clubs, special secret venues and traditional Austrian bars of Mayrhofen, for the Greatest Show on Snow! Snowbombing 2012 is in its 13th year, and we're planning to make it biggest and best Snowbombing yet! Expect huge bands and DJs and a suitably oiled crazy fancy dressed crowd and atmosphere to match. The bands will be feeding our ears with some seriously skilful live music, whilst a huge selection of DJs will present us with some ecstatically tuneful chaos into the early hours of every morning… and (more than likely) beyond!

HOTEL OVERVIEW

Pocket-friendly pensions or 4 star spa splendour?

The choice is all yours! One of the great things about Snowbombing is the range of great accommodation types we offer. Even Snowbombers on a shoestring budget enjoy comfort (and toilets!) festival-goers can only usually only dream about. Our accommodation is hand-picked to cater for all size pockets and all the units listed below are well maintained, traditional in appearance and are privately/family owned and not operated by huge anonymous hotel chains, giving you an authentic slice of life in the mountains. Before you book you should be aware of the location of your accommodation. Due to the size of Snowbombing, it’s necessary for us to use units on the fringes of Mayrhofen and in its surrounding villages.

High End Hotels: Red Carpet in the Mountains!

Snowbombing is unique because you can experience it from a luxurious perspective and relax in comfort... So if you want to pamper yourself as well as party and enjoy the lunacy in luxury, then look no further than one of our high end hotels. With their unrivalled central locations, excellent spas, spacious rooms and suites, staying in one of our high end hotels is a VIP experience!

Please note that due to considerable increased supplier and operating costs, we have reluctantly had to raise the price of our superior accommodation for 2012. Despite this necessary price adjustment they still offer great value for money and the quality they represent, (spa's, heated indoor pools, spacious rooms and excellent service), coupled with their close proximity to the resorts centre we believe is worth every penny and these beds will once again be in great demand, so if you are tempted to do Snowbombing in style, don’t delay... Reserve your room while you can!

Mayrhofen-based high end accommodation

All located in the centre of Mayrhofen, within easy walking distance (less than 1km) to our main venues or the Penken / Ahorn lifts, bars, shops, 24 hour garage and kebab/pizza shop! No taxi's or shuttle buses, your bed will always be nice and near to come and go when you want... and you can get to the main lift in no time at all, maximizing your time on the mountain!

Out of town accommodation

The distance to the centre of Mayrhofen will be reflected in the price you pay (but as those who booked these beds at Snowbombing 2011 will testify; the standard of accommodation you get for the money you pay can be very pleasantly surprising). What’s more, the proximity to the Horberg and Hippach lifts, coupled with the excellent (free) regular ski bus service linking the satellite villages to Mayrhofen (Penken & Ahorn lifts) during the day and our all-night shuttle service (again, free!) means these out of town beds represent fantastic value for money.

Our budget-friendly beds in Hippach, Swendau and Ramsau continue to offer fantastic value for money... We are keeping the same low prices as last year.

The standard of some of these hotels is equivalent to the High End 4 star hotels above, many have spas, gyms, and offer spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Many of these units are conveniently located to the Horberg lift station; a (queue-free!) mountain access point which is well served by ski buses.

This accommodation is served by a free ski bus which runs every 30 minutes from 8.30am-12.00pm and from 2.00pm-4.30pm and also by the Snowbombing night shuttle which operates every 15 minutes through the night – both day and night services are free with your Snowbombing wristband!

getting there

You can book the Snowbombing Road Trip or a coach from the UK with us. We also offer airport transfers.

Location

Mayrhofen is located 32 kilometres south of Jenbach, nestling at the end of the Ziller Valley and is the 3rd largest community in Tyrol. The town benefits from being surrounded by nine other resorts, namely Fugen, Hochfugen, Kaltenbach, Zell, Gerlos, Kunigsleiten, Finkenberg, Tux and the Hintertuxer Glacier.

The resort is close to several airports, the nearest being Innsbruck (a quick 30mins down the road) and others such as Salzberg and Munich are only a couple of hours away by coach transfer. This means you don't have to take an agonizing (but often fun) 24 hour coach journey, but simply jump on a short flight and swift transfer to take you to the incredible snowy Alps of Austria.

Coaches From the UK

Those of you with a fear of flying or late comers who've missed the cheap flights, fear not, one of our coaches will deliver you from your nearest city to the festival doorstep for a paltry £118 upwards.

One set of coaches will be leaving the UK on Saturday 7th April (in the evening) and arriving in Mayrhofen the day before the event on Sunday 8th (customers on this coach will need to book an extra night's accommodation at the beginning of the event). The second set of coaches will be leaving on Sunday 8th April and will be arriving on the first day of the event (Monday 9th April). All coaches will leave Mayrhofen on Saturday 14th April, returning to the UK on Sunday 15th April (in time for work on Monday).
